Sure, sure, it's all been done before, but now I get to do it. Without further ado, here is my all-name team. 20 - Rod Smart - Who the Hell is Rod Smart you ask? Well he is none other than the fool who called himself "He Hate Me" and pretty much epitomized the debacle that was the XFL. 19. Elbert L. "Ickey" Woods - Running back his entire carreer for the Bengals. Hey, how many guys not named Humpty Hump have a dance named after them. The Ickey Shuffle remains high on the all time celebrations list. 18. "Chocolate Thunder" Darryl Dawkins - Perhaps more appropriate for wrestling or porn, but still has a nice ring to it. 17. "Pistol" Pete Maravich - LSU grad was a known practicioner of yoga, a part time ufologist, and could also play a little basketball. Died of a heart attack in 1988 at a young age.

Astro-stock predictors become financial stars

With doomsayers predicting an immediate recession and an endless hike in gas prices, Farmington Hills astrologer and market timer Ray Merriman says bunk.

"The recession everybody is drumming about is a big fake-out. It could happen in one to three years, but not sooner," said Merriman, who consults the stars and planets for Fortune 500 clients who invest $250 to $2,500 for his opinions.

His latest book of forecasts sold out its 2,000-copy press run in two months. His Web site is www.mmacycles.com.

Crew wins deadly pirate battle off Somalia

When the battle aboard the Dai Hong Dan was over, two pirates were dead and five were captured, the Navy said.

Three wounded crew members from the cargo ship were being treated aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS James E. Williams.

The captured pirates were being held aboard the North Korean vessel, the Navy said.

The bandits had seized the ship's bridge, while the crew kept control of the steering gear and engines, the Navy said.

The Koreans moved against the attackers after the Williams -- responding to reports of the hijacking -- ordered the pirates to give up their weapons, according to the Navy.

When the crew members stormed the bridge, the deadly battle began. After the crew regained control, Navy sailors boarded the Dai Hong Dan to help with the injured.

The England midfielder was speaking after a visit to Sierra Leone as a Unicef goodwill ambassador.

More than 27% of children in the African nation die before their fifth birthday.

"We can't turn a blind eye to the tens of thousands of young children who die every day in the developing world mostly from causes that are preventable," he said.

"In Sierra Leone, one in four children dies before reaching their fifth birthday.

John Torode and Gregg Wallace

JT Because it's a real show about real people who do real food. It's not trying to pull the wool over anybody's eyes.

Are you intentionally funny?

GW I try to be funny nearly all the time. I have two moods: one is messing about, the other is cut-your-throat miserable, and 80% of the time I'm trying to be funny.

JT Every so often, Gregg says, "Grape and garlic, not a combination I'm used to". Well, of course it's not, but what other way are you going to say, "You idiot, you shouldn't put grapes and garlic together"?

Do you deliberately ham it up?

GW No.

JT We are who we are. If you were to spend a weekend with us we'd be exactly the same people.

Are you really that shouty?

JT Yeah, we always shout.

Govt: RP budget deficit lowest in a decade

Revenue in 2007 totaled 1.135 trillion pesos, up 15.8 percent from the previous year. Expenditures totaled 1.144 trillion pesos, 9.5 percent more than total spending in 2006.

Increased spending in infrastructure last year helped boost economic growth in the Southeast Asian nation to 7.3 percent, the highest in 31 years.

Taxes collected by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, the government's main revenue-generating agency, were 7.1 percent short of the target of 765.9 billion pesos.

But revenue from other offices, including proceeds from asset sales, surged to 144.7 billion pesos, more than double the target of 71.2 billion pesos and 166 percent higher than the previous year's 54.3 billion pesos.

That's the best she can do? The "shock and awe" approach--in which the enemy gets intimidated by an initial offensive flurry--will probably work as well for the alleged D.C. madam as it did in Iraq. ... Or maybe the theory has once again simply been misapplied, with the choice of an insufficiently shock-inspiring target. ... 9:54 P.M.

Hugh Hewitt's after-action report on our recent radio debate tends to confirm my suspicions about him. He seems to think the "prospects of an amnesty light bill" are so strong opponents need to settle for some minimum demands.

DTN analyst, USDA official square-off on reports

Last Friday, USDA's World Agricultural Outlook Board (WAOB) cut its estimate of U.S. corn ending stocks by 359 million bushels compared to its estimate of a month before. The move set off a bullish shockwave that pushed corn futures at the Chicago Board of Trade over $5 a bushel in successive limit-up trading sessions. In its World Agricultural Supply-Demand Estimates (WASDE), USDA attributed the drawdown in corn stocks to an increase in feed and residual use. But DTN Senior Market Analyst Darin Newsom, in an article published Wednesday, expressed skepticism about USDA's supply-demand report, comparing USDA's report process to the Bowl Championship Series' method of selecting a national college football champion. And Newsom told Brownfield an increase in livestock feeding is almost certainly not the real reason there's less corn on hand.
