| Your Comments : Ratu Joni on Christianity as an identity for Fijians
It has been part of the nation's history and has shaped the country to be what it is today. It's only right to defend what we stand for which is the foundation of our morals and values in life. Ratu Joni is right in saying that Christianity is well and truly alive in the Fijian world that it has become their identity. Just a good example when the Fiji rugby team defeated Wales in their pool game (A big Congratulation to the boys!), the first thing they did was to pray and acknowledged their GOD. Nothing wrong with this as they just merely expressing themselves and begin their celebration in a way best known to them ever since they were young. Everyone in Fiji knows this protocol which is also widely accepted in our society today. (Dua na masu ni vaka vinavinaka) A prayer of thanksgiving! To all who were watching this live on TV, they can tell outright the identity of the boys and how important is their Christian Faith towards the win.
Table Talk
I never tasted anything quite as good as that first bite of vanilla. I miss Scoops. I enjoy Paolo's. But nothing really hits it like a small vanilla cone dipped in chocolate from Dairy Queen. I like Yoforia, but I wish they had better toppings, though I kind of dig the Captain Crunch. I loved Hank's before it moved to Riverdale, and now I never get there anymore (it used to be the reason my daughter and I went to the zoo, other than the flamingos). Hank's was the only place to get black walnut ice cream. What do you crave when you're not craving anything? Does your girlfriend head to Chipotle and get you a bean burrito? Does your husband know you'll take nothing but Jelly Bellies? Oil markets breach $100 a barrel for first time
Investors in oil futures drove prices above $100 a barrel today at market close, marking the first time crude has ever closed at three figures. Analysts hypothesized investor fears about a possible OPEC production cut next month, concern over Alon USA's Big Spring oil refinery explosion Monday, which injured four and put the plant out of commission for at least two months, and the heightened political tensions between the United States and Venezuela. Aggregate data from MSN Autos placed the average price per gallon at Dallas pumps at $2.92 on Tuesday afternoon. The national average price per gallon is $3.03. .
General launches Green march
This process of fast growth and socio-economic development demanded people's active participation. He said the administration and the public must work together to achieve the goals. General Rodrigues said a world-class aquarium was being set up near the Sukhna lake as part of the strategy to add eco-friendly features in the Sukhna catchment area. He asked the teachers and students to build a mass movement and to take a leadership role in planning, implementation and monitoring of these programmes on their own initiative for which the administration would provide help and support to facilitate the process. General Rodrigues said Chandigarh had a green cover in 35.6 per cent of its total area and there was need for further expanding our endeavour and scope for making the city more green.

Obama beats... Jesse Jackson?
Perilously close to swooning!] ... 6:38 P.M. ___________________________ Why does the crowd at Obama's victory rally just happen to look like a perfect, multiracial group of pleasant, idealistic, attractive Americans? I suspect it's because the crowd at Obama rallies typically is a perfect multiracial group of pleasant idealistic, attractive Americans. I've never been in a more benign-seeming group. They're clean! (And articulate!) Maybe a little edgeless. ... 6:28 P.M. ___________________________ Attempted Ghettoization: Now that Bill Clinton has explicitly belittled Obama's South Carolina victory by comparing it to Jesse Jackson's, how does Obama's share of the white vote compare with Jackson's in 1988? Obama got about a quarter (24%) of the white vote, according to exit polls.
Adventurer Fossett declared dead
The 63-year-old went missing on September 3 after taking off in a single-engined plane from a Nevada airstrip. His wife had asked for him to be declared legally dead. The judge heard testimony from Mr Fossett's wife, Peggy, and a family friend, as well as from a search-and-rescue expert, before deciding there was sufficient evidence to declare him dead. Mr Fossett earned millions of dollars trading futures and options on Chicago exchanges. Attorneys representing his estate had filed a petition to have him declared legally dead so his assets could be distributed according to his will. Mr Fossett was a record-setting balloonist, sailor and pilot who completed non-stop flights around the world. Mrs Fossett's lawyer, Michael LoVallo, said: "It was very sad and at first she hoped and sort-of envisioned him walking down the road the next day with another story to tell.

But Democrats have their hopes up this year because the GOP incumbent up for re-election, John Cornyn, 56, doesn't seem as popular as his Republican colleague, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. Also, the GOP in general seems to be on the defensive over a deeply unpopular war and a struggling economy. Still, this race is a long shot for Democrats, who have not won a U.S. Senate race in Texas since Lloyd Bentsen did it in 1988. Democrats in the March 4 primary have four choices in nominating a candidate to run in this fall's general election, and easily the most qualified is Rick Noriega of Houston, a state representative and Texas National Guard officer. The other three candidates are Ray McMurrey, an earnest Corpus Christi government teacher; Rhett Smith, a San Antonio security guard who ran as a Republican for governor in 2006; and Gene Kelly, a Universal City retiree and perennial candidate.
